Standing 16cm high (without the pourer), this olive oil ('olio') bottle bottle with pourer is painted in 'Raffaellesco'.
The Raffaellesco pattern was inspired by Raphael’s 16th century frescoes in the Vatican palace. The dragon symbolizes a benevolent sea creature which rescued sailors trapped in a dead calm by blowing on the ship’s sails. Today, it is commonly believed that having a piece of Raffaellesco in your home brings good luck., a classic Deruta design featuring the mythical dragon which would blow wind in the sails of becalmed ships.
It holds about 300ml.
